Floreant 6 could not hold on

In the second match of the season, Floreant 6 encountered Gouda 7, a team that won their first match by some margin. It looked to be a competitive match at the start.

The boys in yellow and blue started well, with two big chances in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately, occasional striker Tijmen could not find the back of the net. Gouda 7 seemed to utilize Fifa tactics; their attacking line had a lot of pace which was used a lot by long balls over the top. Eventually, they scored the 1-0. Denny was not equal to the second attempt after a good first save.

Floreant put their shoulders under it and collectively went for the equalizer. Within two minutes of Goudas goal, Mike found that goal at the second post after some good skill from Kevin near the touchline. After that, Floreant continued pressuring the opponents goal, leading to some good chances. It is safe to say that occasional striker Tijmen won't be used in that postion very soon again. Luckily, Roy with an amazing effort found the back of the net from an impossible angle. He quickly admitted that it was a cross. With a 1-2 lead, the lads went into the changing rooms.

After some tactical changes, the second half got underway. Similar to the first half, both sides got a good amount of chances. Gouda were probably on the upper hand. Denny kept us in the match for the most of it. Then, a clear offside goal, which was signaled by the line-o, was given by the referee, a man that to this day still hasn't left the centre circle. Nevertheless, Floreant kept pressing and eventually found the 2-3 via Kevin with a good header near the far post.

The last ten minutes of the match literally lasted 20 minutes as the referee kept adding time. And, how surprising, Gouda got the equalizer in the very last second. Sometimes the odds, and other external factors, are against you. On the bright side, Floreant are still unbeaten with 4/6 points. On to the next match!
